So, You Like Magic?
Magic is a fine Art. It requires a great deal of practice to be able to perform the trick or routine well. It also requires the skills and talents of being a good entertainer, which is learned via actual live experience and the application of one's personality.
There are numerous categories of magic, which makes every magician unique. You do not even need to know them all. Because you already have an idea about magic.
You came to this page because you like some form of magic, and you have an idea of how to include magic in something you plan to do. My compliments to your thinking.
You do not need to know the benefits of experiencing magic. You already have the answer to that question, or you would not even be here reading what I have to say about it.
Now as an experienced performing artist doing close-up magic for over twenty-three years, with the last nine years full time professionally; I am confident you will be thrilled at what I can do for you, yours and any business events that you may be planning.
However, I do require detailed info from you before I will even respond to your interest in engaging me for my magical entertainment services. I only want to speak with key decision makers who are genuine and sincere about having me perform my brand of close-up magic, mentalism, and creative balloon art at your next personal or business event.
Please do not waste your time if you do not understand my need to prequalify who you are, confirm your authenticity and to learn more about you and your reasons for coming to this page and learn more about my entertainment services.
Yes, I demand your respect for the choices I made in my life to provide you with the joy and amazing experiences that good magic has to offer. Whether I respond to you depends on how you spend some time answering my questions. If you are serious, then what I ask of you is not unreasonable or too much to ask.
I want to know how to help you reach your goals.
What is your Full Name (Printed)? This is a MUST, for if I decide "to ink a deal with you," then I must put things in writing. Legally I must account for everything I do for tax purposes. If this is a problem for you, then please leave this page.
The following is not a requirement but will be helpful to me getting to know more about you.
Do you have any representation of yourself, your company or organization online? Who are you in your company or organization? What is the name, address and phone number of yourself, your company or organization? What are your work hours and best times to reach you?
How are decisions made? Who is the person who will be making the final decision? What is that person' Full Name (Printed)? Are they fully delegating their decision to your opinion of whether I am hired? If not, then they must be present in any of our discussions and negotiations. No exceptions!
If you are the decision maker, then make a decision. If not, then please name this person or small group of decision makers, so we can reach a decision and move forward with a plan-of-action.
Please also white list my business email address: merlin.magic@hotmail.com. This way my reply will go to your inbox.
I expect you to reply with an answer to any email I send within no more than 2 days. I do not like being stuck wondering what is happening with our discussions. Otherwise, I will automatically delete your interest as a "No Reply" and move on. If I do that, then we may have to start all over again if I delete your information. So, please prioritize our communications. I do not want to fill my pipeline of opportunities with prospects who drag things out or are too indecisive. We either move forward towards making a deal or we part ways as friends.
Can you kindly give me an idea of what you like about magic? Is it the feeling you experience? Or is it the joy of watching the reaction of those in your group, who witness magic happening right before their eyes?
How do you think magic can help you in your business?
What type of event are you planning?
Where will the event take place?
Is your event being made for someone special?
Am I being hired for a wedding?
Do you want me to perform for your employees because they reached a business goal?
Do you want to treat your employees to a magical event to help with team building?
Is your company or organization going to be part of a trade or business show, and you want me to use magic to attract leads to your table of exhibit space?
How many people do you expect to have at your personal event or business function?
Is your event mostly being made for family, relatives and friends?
Am I being asked to do a radio broadcast interview?
Am I being asked to do a 3-, 5- or 10-minute spot on a popular televised program?
Am I being asked to play a part in a movie?
The more you can tell me about your event, the more I can help you reach your goals.
Is your event local within New York City, NY as in: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or Nassau County, Long Island, NY?
Is your event in my regional areas of: Staten Island, NY; Suffolk County, Long Island, NY; Eastern New Jersey, or Southern Connecticut?
Is your event being held out-of-State?
I am currently available for bookings in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. My license allows me to cross the border.
I will also do overseas events and bookings. However, the details of such opportunities need to be discussed and documented before any dates are secured. If such opportunities meet my specific criteria, then I will be happy to bring my brand of close-up magic, mentalism and creative balloon art to other countries.
In my professional experience, I have met many people from overseas locations. I also have multiple testimonials voluntarily given to me from all types of people and from different parts of the world.
I recommend to those people who are interested in hiring me, to first arrange a pre-booked meeting with me, before booking an actual deal. Why? Magic is broken down into many different categories. Different magicians focus upon different skills and aspects of magic. I want you to be happy; that is very important to me. I want you to learn more about me in person, and experience some of my magical abilities. This way you will know what to expect, and you will not be disappointed. You don't have to book a pre-evaluation meeting, but I strongly recommend it. If you choose to pass on a pre-booked opportunity to meet me, before actually booking an actual event, then I will note this in your receipt of payment for my entertainment services. If you elect to make a pre-booked evaluation meeting, then there will be a charge for my time. I will also limit the pre-booked evaluation meeting to three people. Those three people will vote on whether I am hired for an actual event. There is also no reduction in the cost of an actual event because we had a pre-booked meeting.
I also guarantee my work in writing. I normally do a two-hour close-up magic and mentalism show, including some creative balloon art. You can also choose less or more time than my standard two-hour show. My standard show rate does not get reduced if you choose less time. If you require more time, then I will adjust my asking price accordingly. If you are not happy with the first thirty minutes of my two-hour show, then I will give you the bulk of your money back minus a small effort charge and my travel expenses, which cannot be refunded.
I will provide a written proposal accompanied by a one-time administrative fee of $75. This fee must be paid in advance before the proposal is written. However, if a verbal agreement and email confirmation of the same is made concerning your investment in my entertainment services is received from the client, then there will be no charge to summarize our entertainment agreement in writing.
Regarding the timing of events:
I require a 7- to 10 days' notice for local events: (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Nassau County, Long Island, NY).
I require a 10 days' notice for regional events: (Staten Island, NY; Sulfolk County, Long Island, NY; Yonkers; Westchester; Eastern side of NJ (within 50 miles from 5th Avenue and 42nd Street; Manhattan, NY); or Southern Connecticut (within 50 miles from my home office in Queens, NY).
I require 5 to 6 weeks' notice for Out-of-State events. Please note: Airline tickets are lower with more lead time.
I require one and a-half months' notice for an event in Canada or Mexico. Again: Airline tickets are lower with more lead time.
After payment arrangements are confirmed to secure the event, the client will receive a payment receipt and an invoice for any outstanding balance. Receipts of payment and/or Invoices will not be issued until the initial downpayment is received.
If you answered the questions I asked above in writing, and you accepted my policy on having me write a proposal or summary of our agreement, then please first email me at: merlin.magic@hotmail.com
Please note: All business related to my brand of close-up magic, mentalism and creative balloon art, is handled at my email address above.
